Shah has been the star-man for Pakistan in the ongoing three-match series. He has bagged 25 wickets thus far in 5 innings in a record-breaking series for him. In the second Test, Shah became the first player to take 100 Test wickets in the United Arab Emirates (UAE).

His figures of 8-41 in the first Kiwi innings of the second Test were also the third best figures for a Pakistani bowler in Tests.

However, all eyes are now on him becoming the fastest player to 200 wickets by breaking record of Australian leg-spinner Clarrie Grimmett, who got to 200 in 36 Tests in 1936. Indeed, Shah has enough time on his hands, but the sooner he gets to the mark, the better.
