Another US Citizen Hunts Markhor And Pakistanis Are Extremely Unhappy
US Citizen Bryan Kinsel Harlan hunted the highest-priced markhor during the ongoing hunting season in Sassi village, Gilgit.
He is the third American to do so during the current season.
The Gilgit-Baltistan wildlife department said that Bryan had successfully hunted the markhor from Sassi-Harmosh community conservation centre after he paid a record US$110,000 as a permit fee.
In January, two US citizens Dianda Christopher Anthony and John Amistoso had hunted an Astore markhor each after paying US$105,000 and US$100,000 respectively.
Although the hunters are ‘proud’ of their accomplishments, Pakistanis are not happy and believe the government should do more to preserve the country’s national animal and wildlife.

50 wildlife animals have been hunted so far during the 2018-19 trophy hunting season in Gilgit Baltistan.
