Imamul Haq Apologizes To Shane Watson Over Misconduct In PSL Final

Pakistan and Peshawar Zalmi opener Imamul Haq misbehaved with Quetta Gladiators’ Shane Watson in the final of the Pakistan Super League (PSL) season 4 and was strongly criticized on social media.

After Shane Watson was run out, Imam walked over to him and made some inappropriate comments and gestures. This had social media users infuriated as they condemned Imam for misbehaving with a senior players, and that too a foreign one who had come all the way to Pakistan to promote cricket.

‘Imamul Haq’s Behaviour Was Pathetic’

The Pakistani cricketer has now apologized for his behavior saying that it was in the heat of the moment and that it should not have happened. He accused Watson of using abusive comments towards him and that produced a reaction from him.

“My reaction to Watson’s inappropriate abusive comments was avoidable, for which I apologize”, he said, adding that he would like to congratulate Quetta for the victory.

Quetta Gladiators on Sunday beat Peshawar Zalmi by 8 wickets to win the PSL season 4. The team had previously lost 2 finals, but was not willing to make any mistakes this time around.

Peshawar was restricted to 138/8 in twenty overs, while the Gladiators chased down the target with 13 balls to spare. Ahmed Shehzad was the top scorer with an unbeaten 58.
