First Ever Picture Of Black Hole
After years of relying on computer generated imagery, scientists have finally captured the first real image of the black hole. The image was captured by Event Horizon Telescope. The snapshot of the supermassive black hole in the Messier 87 galaxy shows the shadow created as the event Horizon bends.
Eight high-altitude telescopes, including one in Chile and one in Antarctica, were used to reach a maximum angular height which resulted in the successful capturing of the image. Supercomputers at the Max Planck Institute and MIT’s Haystack Observatory had to combine “petabytes” of raw data from the telescopes.
Last year, SpaceX finally launched its massive Falcon Heavy rocket for the first time.
