Kuala Lumpur Summit Denies Reports Pakistan Won’t Be Part Of Anti-Islamophobia Channel

Kuala Lumpur Summit has denied reports that Pakistan has not been included in the efforts to establish a channel to counter Islamophobia.

The Kuala Lumpur Summit made a tweet today in which it had said that they were looking into establishing a TV channel which would be a collaborative effort between Turkey, Qatar and Malaysia.

The tweet had created the impression that Pakistan has not been included in the efforts to establish the channel. Pakistan itself was the first one to call for the making of such a channel.

In Prime Minister Imran Khan’s speech in the United Nations General Assembly in September, the premier had talked of his plans to make a new channel to counter Islamophobia.

The Kuala Lumpur Summit added in a subsequent tweet that Pakistan actually was part of the effort to make the channel.

Moreover, the Malaysia Foreign Minister Saifuddin Abdullah made a tweet correcting the earlier post made from the account of Kuala Lumpur Summit 2019, saying that the countries in the project included Turkey, Pakistan and Malaysia.
