Controversial Playwright Khalil Ur Rehman Now Working On A ‘Pakistani Ertugrul’
Khalil Ur Rehman, the writer of super hit drama series Meray Paas Tum Ho, said that he has been working on a show similar to the Turkish drama, Ertugrul. In an interview with a local TV channel, the writer shared that he had already spoken to Humayun Saeed and the duo will start the work soon.
The host asked him if the speculations have been correct, to which Qamar asserted, “Of course, we are definitely thinking to make something like Ertugrul. Three days ago, I have spoken to Humayun Saeed about this and we have decided to make something.”
Rehman has also been notorious for his hate speech against women in countless on-air appearances. He has been rude to Marvi Sirmed and dismissive of the Aurat March. It is quite ironic that a man who openly disrespects women, which is clearly not allowed in Islam, is making a show on Islamic history.
The Kaaf Kangana director went on to add, “I have been asking him to work on something like this for the last twelve years but the problem is we have limitations. We do not have enough facilities, otherwise, we have brilliant actors.”
When the host congratulated Qamar on even thinking about working on a script as grand as the Turkish epic, the writer quickly interrupted and said, “I am not just thinking about it, I am going to start penning the script from tomorrow.”
