PML-N Workers Defy Social Distancing Rules While Accompanying Shehbaz Sharif To NAB

Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PML-N) workers joined former CM Shehbaz Sharif’s entourage to the National Accountability Bureau (NAB) where he was summoned. The crowd flouted coronavirus SOPs of social distancing that were put in place by the federal government to curb the spread of coronavirus.

As of today, Punajb became the first province to cross the 40,000 mark on the number of people who have contracted the virus.

As per reference, NAB has accused Shehbaz Sharif of misuse of authority in Ramzan Sugar Mills case. Shehbaz Sharif, allegedly approved an amount of Rs 210 million for the construction of drain to benefit the mills.

On June 2, a battalion of Punjab police and the NAB officials had surrounded PML-N President Shehbaz Sharif’s mansion in Lahore, after he did not appear for his hearing at NAB in the money laundering and possession of excessive assets case.

Shehbaz Sharif was summoned at the NAB hearing to be held accountable for owning assets with corruption charges involved, but he said he is unwell and stayed absent from the meeting.

He had also said in a statement submitted to the bureau that due to multiple officers of NAB testing out positive for the coronavirus, he will not be able to show up physically for the hearing. However, he will be available for a video-call investigation via Skype.
