Helpless Human Rights Minister Advocates ‘Due Process’ After Journalist Matiullah’s Recovery
Human Rights Minister Shireen Mazari, who often seems helpless in the cases pertaining to abduction, has advocated for ‘due process’ after journalist Matiullah Jan’s recovery.
The minster posted a tweet expressing his satisfaction over the recovery of Matiullah, 12 hours after his abduction. She said, “Such actions are in violation of our Constitution & our international obligations under HR conventions Pakistan ratified. Citizens cannot live in a constant state of fear and due legal process is the right of all citizens in any democracy.”

On July 15, he was issued a contempt of court notice by the Supreme Court after he posted a tweet regarding the ongoing case involving Justice Qazi Faez Isa.
